Detailed Printer Troubleshooting Checklist:
- Basic Power and Connection
Power: Ensure the printer is plugged into a working power outlet and the power switch is on.
Connection: Verify that the printer cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer. (Recommend unplugging and plugging both ends to verify; it could have come loose.)
- Printer Status and Readiness:
Display: Check the printer's display for any error messages or status information. Follow any on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
Ready: Ensure the printer is showing a "Ready" or "Idle" status before attempting to print.
- Paper and Toner:
Paper Tray: Verify the paper tray is loaded with the correct paper type and size, and that the paper is not jammed. We recommend removing the stack of papers, resetting the paper guides, and reinserting the paper into the tray.
Toner Cartridge: Check that the toner cartridge is properly installed and has sufficient toner.
If the toner is low or you are getting a Maintenance or Drum replacement error, please see the document below on the next steps. On how to order these replacements.
