Setting up Passkeys in Microsoft Authenticator app

This guide will walk you through setting up a Passkey on your Mobile device using the Microsoft Authenticator app

  1. Go to your Microsoft Profile at: https://myaccount.microsoft.com

  1. Select Update Info under Security Info as seen below:

  1. Select Add sign-in method from the Security Info section:

  1. Select the Passkey in Microsoft Authenticator from the available options:

  1. Select Next to proceed:

  1. Open Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile device and follow the steps by selecting Create a passkey:

  1. Select Sign-in to begin the process:

  1. Type in your password and select Sign-in again:

  1. You will next be prompted with the number matching for a brief moment. Make note of this as you will need to type it in on the next step:

  1. Type in the number matching and select Yes to proceed:

  1. Your Passkey will now be created for you after a few seconds:

  1. Once created, select Done to finish the process on your mobile device:

  1. After the passkey has been added in your Microsoft Authenticator, back on your computer select Next to proceed:

  1. You will see a confirmation of the passkey being created, select Done to finish:

  1. Once complete, you should see Passkey as one of your available options under Security Info:
