Setting Up Calls to Route to the Doctors' Exchange On-Call Answering Service

  1. Login to Ring Central Admin
  2. Go to Phone:
  1. Go to IVR Menu, then Search site number:
  1. Look for the Regular Off Hours Menu, Click on the Menu:

  1. Click Key Presses and Look for #5 (usually labeled External Transfer), Copy that number:

NOTE: You will not be able to forward from here so you will have to follow the steps below.
  1. Go back to the console and choose Users, then click on +Add User (Ring Central Extension Creation)
  • Keep this standard naming convention: Site# Special Transfer
  1. Once the Ring Central Account is completed.
  2. Go to this Special Transfer users Incoming call rules section.
  3. Go to the phone section and select Forward all calls.
  1. Change the drop-down to Forward the call.
  1. Click Save. You have completed the special user account.
  2. Go to Phone General Settings, search for Site, and click on Site:
  1. Go to Call Handling, Custom Rules, Edit Custom Rules:
  2. Set up a Custom Rule (Keep Name of Rule standard to: During Hours Transfer to Doctors Exchange).
  3. Select the date and time for this special forwarding.
  4. Choose the Special Transfer User you created above for Number (11) in the document. (Reference Custom Rule)
  1. Save rule name.
